St. Clair County man fatally shot in the head, killer still on the loose

A 39-year-old Washington Park man lost his life Wednesday morning when he was shot in the head outside a nightclub, according to Illinois State Police.

Washington Park Police were dispatched to Club Activated at 1213 Kingshighway in the early morning hours Wednesday.

“When police arrived on scene, they located a male victim who sustained a gunshot wound to the head,” a state police release said.

Emergency Medical Services was called and the man was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:21 a.m.. St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Samuel M. Price of the 1500 block of N. 55th St. in Washington Park.

Price suffered multiple other gunshot wounds, Dye said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and that no suspects have been taken into custody.
