Two juveniles held after multiple reports of gunfire in Belleville, police say
Two juveniles were detained by Belleville Police after officers responded to multiple reports of shots being fired near Dale Allen Drive and Chaucer Drive Tuesday night.
Officers found two unoccupied parked cars that had been struck by gunfire when they arrived on the scene, Belleville Master Sgt. Dan Collins said.
Other evidence was recovered at the scene, Collins said without specifics. There were no reported injuries.
He said witnesses provided information that two groups of juveniles were involved in the shooting.
Belleville detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to further the investigation, he said.
The juveniles were located near the shooting scene and were later interviewed and detained by Belleville officers, Collins said.
The police investigation is in its early stages. No more details were immediately available, said Collins.
