Police investigate shooting outside Cahokia Heights McDonald’s
A man believed to be in his late teens or early 20’s was shot outside a McDonald’s restaurant on Donald Street in Cahokia Heights Tuesday evening.
The male victim has not been identified by law enforcement.
Police Chief Thomas Trice said police went to the restaurant after receiving a shots fired call at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Once on scene, police located a man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a St. Louis hospital and is in critical, but stable condition, Trice said.
A second man was detained as a person of interest, but it’s not clear if that person is a suspect or if he is still being held.
Police are in the early stages of their investigation, Trice said. Only a few police details were available.
No motive has been established for the shooting.
Police were not sure whether the victim lived in Cahokia Heights at this point in their investigation.
