Belleville police arrested two juveniles and are searching for a third suspect in connection with a Friday morning carjacking.

The female victim was parked in her Dodge Challenger at 126 Adeline Drive at 1 p.m. when she was approached by multiple juveniles carrying rifles, according to a release from the Metro East Auto Theft Task Force.

The suspects demanded the woman exit the car, at which point sped off, hitting another parked car in an effort to flee, the release stated. Police stopped the Challenger on Anderson Lane in the Villa Madero subdivision, near where it was stolen, but the occupant fled on foot and had not been found as of Friday afternoon, according to the task force.

Police, however, continued to pursue a white Chevrolet Impala, which was trailing the stolen Dodge. The chase reached Interstate 64, where a FOX 2 News helicopter clocked the fleeting Impala at upwards of 120 mph. Police stopped the car, which had been reported stolen from St. Louis, using spike strips. Police arrested two juveniles and recovered an AR-style rifle and handgun, the release stated.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
