Wounded woman dropped at Granite City hospital. Police searching for shooter
Granite City police are looking for a woman suspected of shooting another woman Friday morning.
Police were called at about 10:20 a.m. when the gunshot victim was dropped off at the emergency room at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, according to a news release from Capt. Adam Connor of the Granite City Police Department.
The victim, whose age and name were not released, was later taken to a St. Louis area hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
The shooting occurred near the intersection of Veterans Parkway, which is also known as 24th Street, and Cleveland Boulevard in Granite City, according to the initial investigation.
The female suspect was last seen in the area driving a black Dodge Challenger, police said.
A detailed description of the suspect was not released.
“It is believed that the suspect and victim are known to one another and there is not an immediate threat to the community,” Connor said in the release.
No other information about the shooting was available to be released.
