Coroner identifies man found stabbed to death in his East St. Louis home
Illinois State Police are investigating after a man was found stabbed to death in his East St. Louis home Friday morning.
St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Van T. Perry, 67, of the 6900 block of Church Lane. Dye said Perry was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:22 a.m. and confirmed the death was caused by stab wounds.
In a press release, state police said investigators responded to the scene at the request of the East St. Louis Police Department.
“This is an ongoing investigation and no further details are available at this time,” the release said.
