Shiloh man charged with felony sex crimes against teen
Kody R. Strunk, a 32-year-old Shiloh man, was charged Friday in St. Clair County Court with 13 felony counts relating to alleged sex crimes against an underage individual.
According to a news release from the Shiloh Police Department, they received word from the St. Louis County Police Department late last month of an ongoing investigation into a ju-jitsu instructor accused of being sexually inappropriate with a teenage girl student in their jurisdiction.
The Shiloh Police Department was told that some incidents may have taken place at the suspect’s home in Shiloh, the release stated.
After both departments took a statement from the victim, Strunk was taken into custody by the Shiloh police. Both departments continue to investigate with multiple search warrants.
According to court records, Strunk was charged in St. Clair County Court on Friday with the following offenses:
- Five counts of criminal sexual assault of a victim ages 13-17, all class 1 felonies
- Five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse when five years or older than the victim, all class 2 felonies
- Two counts pertaining to child sexual abuse material (photograph), class 1 felonies
- One count of child photography by a sex offender at a place that’s geared toward children under 17, a class 1 felony

As of Saturday, Strunk was being held in the St. Clair County Jail.
