Federal officials say a Beckemeyer man received and then distributed videos containing child pornography.
According to a statement from Southern Illinois U.S. Attorney Stephen Wigginton, Miguel Angel Vasquez Torres, 34, received and sent several video files containing child porn on May 4. He’s held without bond until his trial, a date for which has not been set.
If convicted, Torres faces at least five years in prison, fines and probation. Clinton County sheriff’s deputies, Madison County sheriff’s deputies and agents with the FBI’s Metro East Cyber Crimes and Analysis Task Force investigated the case.
