Jailhouse call about drug stash leads to charges against inmate

A Madison County man faces drug charges following a jailhouse phone call.

Jonathan Brown, 28 of Alton, was allegedly overheard by a guard telling the person on the other end of the line to retrieve cocaine he stashed in a motel room.

Police searched the hotel room and said they found the drugs and cash.
