Lebanon man acquitted of sexual assault, but convicted of sex abuse

Michael R. Brock of Lebanon was convicted of criminal sexual abuse after a daylong bench trial that ended Wednesday.

Brock, 31, faced charges of aggravated criminal sexual assault, but St. Clair County Judge Robert Haida found him guilty of sexual abuse, a lesser charge.

Brock was accused of having sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl.

“We are glad and agree with the judge who found him not guilty of the aggravated criminal sexual assault,” said Alex Enyart, Brock’s attorney

Brock was convicted of a class 4 felony, which carries punishment of one to three years in prison.

His sentencing is set for Nov. 10.
