Police find toddler in car after two-state chase

A man with a toddler in his car was arrested after leading police on a chase from Granite City to St. Louis.

Officers received a call Wednesday night that a man was brandishing a hand gun in the 2200 block of Delmar Avenue, according to police reports.

The suspect fled when police arrived in a gray Pontiac. Officers eventually were able to take him into custody at Goodfellow Boulevard and Natural Bridge Road on the lot of a gas station.

Police said a toddler was found in the back seat of the car. The child and the suspect were unharmed.
