Charges filed against Oklahoma man in Fairview Heights hotel stabbing

Prosecutors filed charges Friday against an Oklahoma man in connection with the stabbing of a man at a Fairview Heights hotel earlier in the week.

Jason D. Young, 39, of Hulbert, Okla., faces three aggravated battery charges stemming from the stabbing Wednesday evening of a 30-year-old man at the Drury Inn, 12 Ludwig Drive.

The man was treated for cuts to the face and head from a pocket knife. He has been released from Saint Louis University Hospital. Fairview Heights police said witnesses reported the men had argued.

According to Fairview Heights police, St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly filed charges against Young that include aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Bond was set at $75,000.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether Young was in custody Friday.
