A Belleville man has been charged with first-degree murder after a person he allegedly stabbed Saturday night later died.

Damon Stidimire, 19, of 1045 Brookshire Drive, argued with a man at a residence in the 2800 block of West Boulevard in unincorporated Belleville, according to St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department reports. A short time later, he returned to the residence and had another argument, allegedly stabbing the brother of the man he argued with earlier.

Deputies were called to the home at 11:38 p.m., according to Sheriff’s Department spokesman Capt. Scott Weymouth.

“When they arrived, the victim had an open wound that appeared to be the result of a stabbing,” Weymouth said.

The victim, Brianzellous T. Allen, 25, was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville for treatment and later was transferred by helicopter to Saint Louis University Hospital, where he died at 5:25 a.m. Monday from his wounds.
