Woman accused of leaving baby in casino parking lot
A Missouri woman faces misdemeanor charges after allegedly leaving her infant in the car while she went into a casino to gamble.
Timeka D. Coleman-Jones, 28, of St. Ann, Mo., has been charged with the misdemeanor offense of endangering the welfare of a child. She is accused of leaving her 6-month-old baby girl in a car in the parking lot of the Argosy Casino in Alton for at least half an hour Sunday, while she went inside.
According to court documents, it was about 2:15 p.m. when police found the infant in the car. The child’s condition and current custody were not immediately known Wednesday.
Alton police could not immediately be reached for comment.
