Major Case Squad: No suspects yet in Cahokia killing

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis continued to chase leads Thursday in a home invasion and murder case in Cahokia.

But the organization’s deputy commander said investigators were still looking for a major break in the case of the killing Monday of Jermion Conley.

“We’re still asking for the public’s help,” said Jason Donjon said, the deputy commander. “We don’t have enough at this point to label anyone a suspect. But leads keep coming in and we’re hopeful of getting a couple of really good ones that will help us out.”

Several police cars responded to Conley’s home at 179 Amelia Drive at about 1 a.m. Monday after his body was found inside. The victim, 46, was shot to death, according to police reports.

Conley was convicted of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in 2011 and sentenced to three years in prison. Conley was charged after prosecutors said police found a .380-caliber semiautomatic pistol in his car on July 3, 2011.
