Swansea police seek suspect in gas station robbery

Swansea police are seeking the public’s help finding a man who allegedly robbed a gas station early Sunday.

Swansea Police were summoned to the Hucks gas station at 4590 N. Illinois at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday after a man allegedly robbed the station at gunpoint. The man displayed a silver pistol during the robbery, which was caught on surveillance video. The man fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, and no one was injured in the robbery.

The man is described as a black male between 5 foot 7 inches and 5 foot 9 inches tall, with a slim build, wearing a dark beanie, red bandana over his face, a black hooded sweatshirt with horizontal teal and white stripes, dark gray sweatpants, one white glove and white Nike shoes. He fled in a southeasterly direction from the store, according to Swansea police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Swansea Police at 233-8114 or the St. Louis Area Crimestoppers at 866-371-8477. Crimestoppers tips that lead to the felony arrest of a suspect may be rewarded up to $1,000.
