Police increase reward for information about Fairview Heights, Swansea armed robberies

The reward for information leading to the capture of an armed robber who wears a hoodie has been raised to $5,000.

Police are searching for tips for the man who has committed several armed robberies in Fairview Heights and Swansea. On at least three occasions he has held up local businesses while wearing a Washington Redskins hoodie sweatshirt.

The latest robbery happened Dec. 11 at the Moto Mart at 6114 N. Illinois Street in Fairview Heights.

The money is on top of the $1,000 being previously offered.

Anyone with information about the armed robberies is asked to call Crimestoppers at 866-371-8477.
