A 17-year-old juvenile has been charged with aggravated robbery after holding up a person at gunpoint in Shiloh.
According to police reports, on Saturday a person called police to say they arranged to sell an item of clothing to a person they met online. The meeting was supposed to take place at Whiteside Middle School, 111 Warrior Way.
When they arrived, the suspect displayed a handgun and threatened to use force if the victim didn’t surrender the item they planned to sell.
Through investigation, a suspect was identified and taken into custody. The results of the investigation were presented to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office Juvenile Division for review.
On Monday, St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Erica Mazzotti filed a juvenile charge for Aggravated Robbery, a Class 1 Felony, charging a 17-year-old juvenile male.
The juvenile delinquency order was reviewed by St. Clair County Judge Walter Brandon. The juvenile suspect is custody at the St. Clair County Juvenile Detention Center pending his next court date.
