Police report smash and grab at Edwardsville jewelry store
It took Edwardsville police only two minutes to arrive to Hudson Jewelers in response to a burglary alarm, but by then two men had smashed their way into the store and grabbed what they could before driving off Wednesday morning.
Police Chief Jay Keeven said surveillance footage shows a dark colored SUV pull up in front of the store at 6679 Edwardsville Crossing Drive East at 6:15 a.m. Two men, one of them masked, entered the store after one of them used an unknown object to break through the glass at the storefront.
After removing some merchandise, the two men left the store and drove off in the SUV.
Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to contact Edwardsville Detective Jake Germann at 618-656-2131 or call the department’s anonymous tip line at 618-692-7552.
