Police look for Swansea home invasion suspect
Swansea police are looking for a suspect in a Thursday afternoon home invasion.
A woman who lives on Castle Drive told police she found a man in her garage about 1 p.m. after she heard some noise.
The resident reported the man hit her several times, Police Chief Steve Johnson said. The victim declined to go to a hospital in an ambulance but later went to the hospital on her own. She was treated and released, Johnson said.
The suspect is described as a white male with a shaggy beard. He was about 5-foot-10 and was wearing a hoodie and Nike shoes.
The victim told police she did not know the suspect.
Johnson said there was no sign of forced entry to the home.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Swansea Police Department at 618-233-8114.
