Caseyville man charged with weapons felony
A Caseyville man has been charged with a felony for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
Ryan S. Miniex, 30, of Caseyville, is being held at the St. Clair County Jail on a $20,000 bond on weapons charges.
Charges stemmed from an incident at about 1:20 p.m., where a man was reported speeding near where children were playing. A resident along the 1900 block of Chevy Chase Drive in Caseyville reported asking the man to slow down for the children and said the suspect threatened him with a handgun and then drove away.
The victim called police with a description of the suspect and vehicle. An officer stopped a vehicle of that description soon after that call, on Concord Street in Caseyville.
The Caseyville officer found a loaded handgun in the suspect’s possession. On Monday, the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s office issued a warrant for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against Miniex.
