Four face charges in Columbia police pursuit
Four St. Louis residents who were allegedly involved in a retail theft in St. Louis County and who led police on a pursuit into Monroe County now face charges, according to Columbia police.
Brandon S. Van Doren, Shawn Lamb, Tosha Fox and Tesch Sensabaugh — all St. Louis residents — were charged Wednesday after they were captured by police.
Van Doren, Lamb, Fox and Sensabaugh were in a black Nissan sedan reported stolen from Jefferson County, Mo., that fled St. Louis County Police Wednesday morning following an alleged retail theft. Columbia Police were dispatched at 9:54 a.m. by St. Louis County officers who were following the suspects as they crossed into Illinois on the Jefferson Barracks Bridge.
A Columbia police officer initiated a road pursuit that turned into a foot chase after the driver turned down a dead end road.
That driver — Van Doren, 21 — was captured shortly after the foot pursuit began near Columbia Lakes Drive and Old Route 3. He was charged with resisting arrest, unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful possession of hypodermic needles, possession of a stolen vehicle and a host of traffic charges related to the pursuit.
The other three occupants of the car ran into a nearby wooded area but were found by police shortly before noon after a passing driver saw two women running in the area and flagged down an officer.
Lamb, 23, was charged with resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle and being a fugitive from justice.
Fox, 23, was charged with resisting arrest and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Sensabaugh, 22, was charged with resisting arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol.
