Man gets over 15 years for robbing East St. Louis bank

A 55-year-old St. Louis man on Tuesday received a sentence of about 15.5 years in prison for robbing the First Bank at 300 River Park Drive in East St. Louis last year, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Gregory Forest entered the bank on May 8, 2015, approached a teller, told her that he had a gun and demanded money, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Forest received $2,310 from the teller and fled. At the time of the robbery, Forest had been on supervised release for less than three months for a string of bank robberies he committed in 2004.

Forest was ordered to pay $2,310 in restitution to First Bank and to serve three years of supervised release when he leaves prison.
