The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES

MONDAY, JAN. 4

  • Kourtney J. Murphy, 39, of 6929 Lee Dale Drive, St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence and reckless homicide on or about Jan. 1 by East St. Louis police. Murphy allegedly, drove a 2009 Chevrolet Impala on Mississippi Ave. in East St. Louis, while the defendant was under the influence of alcohol and the defendant, at the time of the commission of said violation was involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of Raquel L. McKnight; while under the influence of alcohol, and while acting in a reckless manner, performed acts likely to cause death or great harm to some individual in that he operated a motor vehicle in a southerly direction and along and upon Mississippi Avenue in East St. Louis, and drove said motor vehicle into a train overpass, thereby causing the death of Raquel L. McKnight.
  • Pedro V. Banuelos, 25, of 2511 N. 34th St., Fairmont City, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery and mob action on or about Jan. 2 by Fairview Heights police. Banuelos allegedly, in committing a battery, and while Emmette Fenton was at the St. Clair Mall, located at 134 S. Clair Square, Fairview Heights, a public place, knowingly made physical contact with Emmette Fenton, in that he punched and kicked him about the head and body; knowingly, and by the use of force an violence, disturbed the public peace in that he, while acting together with others and without authority of law, punched and kicked Emmette Fenton about the head and body.
  • Santo R. Banuelos, 21, of 2511 N. 34th St., Fairmont City, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery and mob action on or about Jan. 2 by Fairview Heights police. Banuelos allegedly, in committing a battery, and while Emmette Fenton was at the St. Clair Mall, located at 134 St. Clair Square, Fairview Heights, a public place, knowingly made physical contact with Emmette Fenton, in that he punched and kicked him about the head and body; knowingly, and by the use of force and violence, disturbed the public peace in that he, while acting together with others and without authority of law, punched and kicked Emmett Fenton about the head and body.
  • Rodrigo Avila Jr., 4008 Collinsville Road, Collinsville, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery and mob action on or about Jan. 2 by Fairview Heights police. Avila allegedly, in committing a battery, and while Emmette Fenton was at the St. Clair Mall, located at 134 St. Clair Square, Fairview Heights, a public place, knowingly made physical contact with Emmette Fenton, in that he punched and kicked him about the head and body; knowingly, and by the use of force and violence, disturbed the public peace in that he, while acting together with others and without authority of law, punched and kicked Emmett Fenton about the head and body.
  • Francisco J. Hernandez-Rojero, 21, of 2562 N. 32nd St., Fairmont City, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery and mob action on or about Jan. 2 by Fairview Heights police. Hernandez-Rojero allegedly, in committing a battery, and while Emmette Fenton was at the St. Clair Mall, located at 134 St. Clair Square, Fairview Heights, a public place, knowingly made physical contact with Emmette Fenton, in that he punched and kicked him about the head and body; knowingly, and by the use of force and violence, disturbed the public peace in that he, while acting together with others and without authority of law, punched and kicked Emmette Fenton about the head and body.

TUESDAY, JAN. 5

  • Jason E. Shields, 34, of 3235 South Belt West, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of two counts of domestic battery on or about Nov. 22, 2015 by St. Clair County sheriff. Shields allegedly, knowingly made physical contact with Cynthia Elmore, a family/household member, in that said defendant struck her in the face with an open hand; knowingly made physical contact with Cynthia Elmore, a family/household member, in that said defendant struck her on the head with a dartboard. Defendant had been previously convicted of domestic battery on April 13, 2012, June 26, 2000 and May 5, 2000.
  • Diondre D. Shanklin, 22, of 20 E. Adams Drive, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of failure to register as a sex offender, subsequent on or about Sept. 10, 2015 by Cahokia police. Shanklin allegedly, a sex offender, knowingly failed to renew registration in accordance with the provision of the Sex Offender Registration Act, with the Chief of Police of Cahokia within 90 days of last registration. Defendant had been previously convicted of the sex offender registration act, being failure to renew registration as a sex offender on Oct. 10, 2013.
