The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES
FRIDAY, JAN. 29
- Lemario Q. Johnson Jr., 19, of 5929 Ridge Ave., St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer on or about Jan. 17 by Washington Park police. Johnson allegedly, while operating a motor vehicle, a silver 2002 Oldsmobile Alero, was given a visual signal by a police officer, Michael Collins, who was in police uniform and driving a vehicle which displayed illuminated, oscillating, rotating or flashing red or blue lights which when used in conjunction with an audible horn or siren would indicate the vehicle to be an official police vehicle, directing the defendant to bring said vehicle to a stop, willfully fled or attempted to elude the police officer and that when willfully fleeing or attempting to elude the police officer, the defendant traveled at a rate of speed 32 mph over the legal speed limit; disobeyed two or more official traffic control devices, being a stop sign and a stop light.
- Shonchraz M. Leavy, 18, of 1218 Piggott, East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of residential burglary on or about Jan. 23 by East St. Louis police. Leavy allegedly, entered into the dwelling place of T.C. located in the 1300 block of N. 44t St., East St. Louis, with the intent to commit theft therein.
- Lorenzo S. Gandy, 24, of 621 N. 81st St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery on or about Dec. 9, 2015 by Belleville police. Gandy allegedly, while indicating by his actions or by his words to Tina Uhl that he had a firearm, knowingly took property, being U.S. currency from Tina Uhl, by threatening the imminent use of force.
- James H. Coffey, 52, of 3212 Miller, Arnold, Mo., arrested on suspicion of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on or about Aug. 8, 2014 by Illinois State Police. Coffey allegedly, carried in a vehicle a 9mm Smith and Wesson at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, and the said defendant was engaged in the commission of a misdemeanor involving the threat of violence against the person of another, being Kevin McCaster.
MONDAY, FEB. 1
- Robert L. Hefner, 41, of 2021 Alton Ave., Madison, arrested on suspicion of driving on a revoked, suspended driver’s license drove a red 1998 Ford Escort on Salem Place at North Illinois Street, Fairview Heights, at a time when defendant’s driver’s license was suspended. Defendant had been previously convicted of driving while license is suspended on Oct. 23, 2006.
- Dean Smith, 51, of 9811 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance on or about Jan. 30 by Fairview Heights police. Smith allegedly, had in his possession less than 15 grams of a substance containing cocaine.
- Bradley J. Rice, 25, of 1002 Clarence St., Greenville, arrested on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence and driving while driver’s license is revoked, subsequent on or about Jan. 31 by Fairview Heights police. Rice allegedly, drove a blue 2009 Mazda CX9 on North Illinois St., Fairview Heights, while the defendant was under the influence of alcohol and during a period in which the defendant’s driving privileges were revoked. Defendant had been previously convicted of driving while license is revoked.
- Joseph C. Gintz, 50, of 1023 S. Lyn Mar, Quincy, arrested on suspicion of aggravated driving under the influence on or about Jan. 31 by Fairview Heights police. Gintz allegedly, drove a red 2014 Ford F150 on Illinois Highway 161 in Fairview Heights, while the defendant was under the influence of alcohol. Defendant had been previously convicted of driving under the influence on May 19, 2008 and on May 21, 2011, in Adams County Illinois.
- John D. Adams, 20, of 16 Cozy Lane, Fairview Heights, arrested on suspicion of burglary on or about Jan. 30 by Fairview Heights police. Adams allegedly entered a building of R.R. being a shed in the first block of Lindenleaf Lane, Swansea, with the intent to commit theft therein.
TUESDAY, FEB. 2
- Manguel A. Monroe, 20, of 1118 Keenland Place, O’Fallon, arrested on suspicion of three counts of burglary on or about Dec. 13, 2015, Dec. 23, 2015, by O’Fallon police. Monroe allegedly, entered into a motor vehicle, a gray Mazda 6, of Brian Hoots, located at 1046 Edgewood Drive, O’Fallon, with the intent to commit theft therein; entered into a motor vehicle, a 2012 Dodge Ram of Earl Allbright located at 1305 Braodmoor, O’Fallon, with the intent to commit theft therein; entered into a motor vehicle, a gray Honda Civic of Sarah Hamann, located at 501 Westfield Drive, O’Fallon, with the intent to commit there therein.
- Derrick T. Yelder Jr., 21, of 702 White Oak Drive, 4, O’Fallon, arrested on suspicion of burglary on or about Dec. 23, 2015, Dec. 23, 2015, by O’Fallon police. Yelder allegedly, entered into a motor vehicle, a 2012 Dodge Ram, of Earl Allbright, located at 1305 Broadmoor, O’Fallon, with the intent to commit theft therein; entered into a motor vehicle, a gray Honda Civic, of Sarah Hamann, located at 501 Westfield Drive, O’Fallon, with the intent to commit theft therein; entered into a motor vehcle, a white 2011 GMC, of Richard Beiter, located at 801 Jamestown Road, O’Fallon, with the intent to commit theft therein.
- Candace N. Burnett, 23, of 1800 Wiemann Ave., A, East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of escape and theft on or about Nov. 30, 2015 by Miscellaneous agencies. Burnett allegedly, who was convicted of the felony offense of retail theft on Feb. 24, 2014, and who on Sept. 3, 2015 and on Oct. 9, 2015 was conditionally released from the St. Clair County Jail, the supervising authority, through an electronic home monitoring detention program with the St. Clair County Probation Department, knowingly violated a condition of that program in that said defendant, without permission left her residence and her whereabouts are unknown; knowingly took control over property of Sentinel Home Monitoring, being a Patrol Suite Transmitter, total value not in excess of $500. Defendant had been previously convicted of retail tehft on Feb. 24, 2014.
- Britney F. Minks, 23, of 3208 VFW Lane, Collinsville, arrested on suspicion of retail theft, subsequent on or about Jan. 22 by Belleville police. Minks allegedly, took merchandise from Walmart, 2608 Greenmount Commons, Belleville, being laundry detergent, bleach, soap and other merchandise, total retail value not in excess of $300. Defendant had been previously convicted of retail theft on Sept. 6, 2013.
- LeJuan D. Crisp, 20, of 8906 Woestboul St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon on or about Feb. 2 by St. Clair County sheriff. Crisp allegedly, carried on his person a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, and the said defendant was under 21 years of age and in possession of a handgun.
- Alec Chisolm-Blockton, 19, of 1701 Edwardsville Road C, Madison, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery on or about May 28, 2015 by Washington Park Police. Blockton allegedly, while committing a battery, knowingly discharged a firearm and thereby caused bodily harm to Robert Grinston in that defendant shot Robert Grinston in the leg.
- Malik Gomiller, 18, of 1400 N. 44th St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery on or about May 28, 2015 by Washington Park police. Gomiller allegedly, while committing a battery, knowingly discharged a firearm and thereby cuased bodily harm to Robert Grinston in that defendant shot Robert Grinston in the leg.
- Bruce O. Henley, 21, of 3124 Converse Ave., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on or about Feb. 1 by East St. Louis police. Henley allegedly, carried a concealed weapon on his person, a .25 caliber Raven handgun, at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, and the defendant was on the real property of a public housing the Roosevelt Homes located at 1328N. 44t St., East St. Louis; knowingly carried on his person a 25 caliber Raven handgun at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, and said defendant had not been issued a current, valid FOID card.
