The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9

  • James M. Sortor, 34, of 114 S. 2nd C St., Shiloh, arrested on suspicion of robbery on or about March 8 by O’Fallon police. Sortor allegedly, took property, a wallet, form the person or presence of Deborah S. Wiens, a person over the age of 60 years, by the use of force.
  • Al J. Pollard Jr., 37, homeless, arrested on suspicion of violation of order of protection, subsequent on or about Feb. 20 by Swansea police. Pollard allegedly, having been served with the contents of an order of protection did knowingly commit an at which was prohibited by the order of protection, in that said defendant came within 500 feet of 1797 Barbary Way, Swansea, a protected residence, while Monica Pollard was present. Defendant had been previously convicted of domestic battery on May 21, 2015.
  • Darius D. Fridge, 22, of 4092 Redcastle Place, Swansea, arrested on suspicion of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon on or about Nov. 30, 2015 by Fairview Heights police. Fridge allegedly, carried in a vehicle a Hi-Point .38 caliber handgun at a time when he was not on his own land, or in his own abode, or fixed place of business, and said defendant was engaged in a misdemeanor violation of the cannabis control act.
  • Jeffrey C. Rachell, 43, of 108 Aaron Drive, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of violation of order of protection on or about March 8 by St. Clair County sheriff. Rachell allegedly, having obtained knowledge of the contents of an order of protection, did knowingly commit an act which was prohibited by the order of protection in that said defendant sent text messages to Cher Wiltsie, a protected party. Defendant had been previously convicted of domestic battery on Nov. 15, 2002.
  • Roy E. Conlee, 30, of 200 N. 12th St., Belleville, arrested on suspicion of aggravated battery and battery on or about March 7 by Belleville police. Conlee allegedly, a person over the age of 18 years, knowingly caused bodily harm to a minor male child, initials C.W., date of birth, Nov. 25, 2003, a child under the age of 13 years, in that he struck the male child on his face with his fist; grabbed the male child with his arm and hands.
  • Caitlin M. Schneider, 29, of 2549 Smelting Works Road, Swansea, arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a credit card on or about May 17, 2015 by Belleville police. Schneider allegedly, with the intent to defraud the issuer, Discover, used a Discover credit card, which was without the card holder’s consent for the purpose of obtaining goods, being makeup, clothing, sunglasses and other merchandise, total value in excess of $300.
  • Michael D. Triplett, 41, of 1121 St. Stephens Drive, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to property on or about March 7 by Cahokia police. Triplett allegedly, damaged property of Larry Ulrich, doing business as Scotchwash, a window in the business, located at 1643 Camp Jackson Road, Cahokia, without Larry Ulrich’s consent, said damage in excess of $300.

THURSDAY, MARCH 10

  • Jeremy N. Jackson, 33, of 16 Commodore Drive, Belleville, arrested on suspicion of first degree murder on or about Feb. 27 by Belleville police. Jackson allegedly, without lawful justification and with the intent to kill or do great bodily harm to Nathan Funkhouser, struck Nathan Funkhouser in the head with a baseball bat and stabbed Nathan Funkhouser in the chest with a knife, thereby causing the death of Nathan Funkhouser.
  • Janice M. Williams, 34, of 4178 Breckenridge Lane, Granite City, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of methamphetamine on or about March 8 by Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southwestern Illinois. Williams allegedly, had in her possession less than five grams of a substance containing methamphetamine, other than as authorized in the methamphetamine control and community protection act.
  • Donte A. Bohanna, 37, of 3298 Hunters Way Drive, Shiloh, arrested on suspicion of two counts of criminal sexual assault, four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and transmitting HIV during sexual activity from between Sept. 1, 2011 and Aug. 31, 2013 by Shiloh police. Bohanna allegedly, a person 18 years of age or older, knowingly committed acts of sexual assault with a male minor, initials C.R., date of birth, Oct. 20, 1996, a person under the age of 18 years; knowingly committed acts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, with a male minor, initials C.R. date of birth Oct. 20, 1996; knowingly engaged in sexual activity with a male minor, initials C.R., date of birth, Oct. 20, 1996 without a condom, knowing he was infected with HIV. The defendant was in a position of trust, authority or supervision over the minor when the acts were committed.
  • John R. Laird, 62, of 1256 S. Vine St., P.O. Box 131, Tilden, arrested on suspicion of retail theft, subsequent on or about March 6 by Marissa police. Laird allegedly, took merchandise from Marissa Food Mart, 700 E. Lyons, Marissa, being two bottles of Captain Morgan’s Rum, total retail value not in excess of $300. Defendant had been previously convicted of retail theft on Feb. 4, 2016.
  • Varian D. Custer, 28, of 1815 Cleveland Ave., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of armed violence, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver 10-30 grams on or about March 8 by East St. Louis police. Custer allegedly, while armed with a dangerous weapon, a AR-15 assault rifle, a category II weapon, performed acts prohibited by Illinois Compiled Statutes, in that he knowingly possessed with the intent to deliver 10-30 grams of a substance containing cannabis; a person who had been convicted of a felony, knowingly possessed in a vehicle a AR-15 assault rifle, and person had been previously convicted of armed robbery, a forcible felony, on Nov. 5, 2012; knowingly possessed with the intent to deliver more than 10 grams but less than 30 grams of a substance containing cannabis.
