Crime Blotter June 15

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of local law enforcement agencies and court clerks. Readers are reminded that an arrest or charge does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY FELONIES

FRIDAY, JUNE 3

Terence L. Wright, 33, of 236 Shadow Creek, Florissant, Mo., arrested on suspicion of unlawful presence within a school, zone by a child sex offender from between Mary 31 and June 2 by Fairview Heights police. Wright allegedly, a child sex offender, knowingly resided within 500 feet of the real property comprising a school, being the Grant Middle School, located at 10110 Old Lincoln Trail, Fairview Heights, that persons under the age of 18 attend.

Shonchraz M. Leavy, 18, of 1218 Piggott, East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of burglary on or about June 2 by Cahokia police. Leavy allegedly, entered into a motor vehicle, a gray 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, of KEvin Wise, while located at 300 Tricentennial Drive, Cahokia, with the intent to commit theft therein.

Shelli K. Schaefer, 29, of 2111 N. 5th St., Baldwin, arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer on or about June 2 by Freeburg police. Schaefer allegedly, while operating a motor vehicle, a black 2005 Chrysler 300M, was given a visual signal by a police officer, David Turner, who was in police uniform and driving a vehicle which displayed illuminated, oscillating, rotating or flashing red or blue lights which when used in conjunction with an audible horn or siren would indicate the vehicle to be an official police vehicle, directing the defendant to bring said vehicle to a stop, willfully fled or attempted to elude the police officer and than when willfully fleeing or attempting to elude the police officer, the defendant traveled at a rate of speed 21 mph over the legal speed limit; disobeyed two or more official traffic control devices, being stop sign and stop light.

Trivonne L. Scott, 19, of 25 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio, arrested on suspicion of fugitive from justice on or about June 3 by St. Clair County sheriff. Scott allegedly, after having been charged in Mahoning County, Ohio, with the offenses of abduction and domestic violence, fled the state of Ohio with the intent to avoid prosecution for those offenses.

Edwin L. Johnson Jr., 34, of 1328 N. 44th St., East St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of three counts of aggravated battery on or about May 26, 28 by East St. Louis police. Johnson allegedly, a person over the age of 18 years, knowingly caused bodily harm to a minor female child, bearing initials L.J., date of birth, Feb. 15, 2012, a child under the age of 13 years, in that he struck the female child about her body with a belt; knowingly caused bodily harm to a minor female child, bearing initials L.J., date of birth Aug. 20, 2010, a child under the age of 13 years, in that he struck the female child about her body with a belt; knowingly caused bodily harm to a minor male child, bearing initials L.J., date of birth, July 20, 2009 a child under the age of 13 years, in that he struck the male child about his body with a belt.

Kendra McMorris, 34, of 5652 Wilborn Drive, Jennings, Mo., arrested on suspicion of retail theft and driving on revoked license on or about June 2 by Fairview Heights police. McMorris allegedly, took merchandise from Gordman’s, 81 Ludwig Drive, Fairview Heights, being two pairs of shoes and several bottles of fragrances, total retail value in excess of $300; drove a white 2001 Chevrolet Malibu on North Ruby Lane in Fairview Heights, at a time when defendant’s driver’s license was suspended.

Jeffrey Pattin, 47, of 4334 Lexington Ave., St. Louis, arrested on suspicion of robbery, retail theft and aggravated assault on a security officer on or about June 2 by Fairview Heights police. Pattin allegedly, knowingly took property, being two pairs of shoes and several bottles of fragrances, from the presence of Michael Simmons, by threatening the imminent use of force; Took merchandise from Gordman’s, 81 Ludwig Drive, Fairview Heights, being two pairs of shoes and several bottles of fragrances, total retail value in excess of $300; knowingly threatened to shoot Michael Simmons with a firearm, thereby placing Michael Simmons in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery, knowing Michael Simmons to be a private security officer engaged in the performance of his authorized duties.

MONDAY, JUNE 6

Talib Amer-Ra, 38, of 11 Potomac Drive, Fairview Heights, arrested on suspicion of two counts of reckless discharge of a firearm on or about June 2 by Fairview Heights Police. Amer-Ra allegedly, endangered the safety of Marija Smith, in that said defendant, while acting in a reckless manner, discharged a firearm, a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, in Marija Smith’s presence and in doing so thereby placed Marija Smith in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery; endangered the safety of Kathryn Alexander, in that said defendant, while acting in a reckless manner, discharged a firearm, a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun, in close proximity to the residence of Kathryn Alexander, who was present in that residence, and in doing so thereby placed Kathryn Alexander in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery.

Samuel A. Scott Jr., 34, of 30 Helen Court, Cahokia, arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance from between June 2 and June 3 by Washington Park police. Scott allegedly, had in his possession less than 15 grams of a substance containing heroin.
