Belleville West’s Wall of Fame now includes BND staff

Two News-Democrat staff members have been added to Belleville West High School’s Wall of Fame.

Award-winning cartoonist Glenn McCoy and Answer Man Roger Schlueter were among 14 alumni to be inducted on Sunday.

McCoy is also the creator of “The Duplex” syndicated comic strip. He has worked on the animated films “Despicable Me,” “Despicable Me 2,” “Minions,” “The Secret Life of Pets,” and “Despicable Me 3.”

The other alumni inductees included: Belleville businesswoman Audrey Marsh King; Department of Agriculture Administrator Donald Houston; industrial engineer James Hascall; longtime English teacher and coach Roger Mueller; educator Phillip Silsby; engineering professor Wayne Huebner; and physician/corporate executive Lynne Willett Nowak.

Five former members of the Belleville West staff were also added to the Wall of Fame, including: Dale Van Blair, John R. “Bob” Dosier; Richard Hunsaker; K. Lane Miller and Charles Rodman.
