McKendree University president gets another contract extension
McKendree University’s board of trustees approved a multi-year extension of President James Dennis’ contract.
Dennis has worked as McKendree’s president since 1994, according to a university news release. Because McKendree is a private institution, the terms of his contract and salary were not disclosed.
In the news release, board chairman Daniel Lett said the board of trustees credits Dennis with much of the university’s success.
“Over the past 23 years, through his vision, leadership and tireless devotion, McKendree has experienced a renaissance,” Lett stated.
Since Dennis became the 32nd president, McKendree expanded its undergraduate majors, graduate degree programs and doctoral programs, added marching band and show choir to its co-curricular programs and moved to the NCAA Division II athletic conference, according to the release.
McKendree has also raised $75 million since Dennis was hired.
