Metro-east schools call e-learning, snow days for Monday
In the wake of the weekend’s winter storm, metro-east school districts are either scheduling remote-learning days Monday or calling a traditional snow day.
Many districts reminded parents and guardians of their e-learning plans on social media Friday, anticipating heavy snowfall and cold temperatures to hit over the weekend. They were right —snowfall totals reached between 6 and 11 inches in southwestern Illinois Sunday morning, with more snow expected throughout the day said Cole Peine, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in St. Louis.
On Monday morning, the low temperature is expected to reach minus 5 degrees, with wind chills between minus 15 and minus 20 degrees.
