Two 18-year-old women were found dead in a running car and police in Illinois are calling their deaths “suspicious.”

Officers in East Moline found the bodies of the 18-year-olds around 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, in a parking lot at Jacobs Northeast Park, police said in a news release.

The vehicle was still running when police located it, and investigators later determined it had been running at the park “for several hours,” police said.

Neither of the women had any visible injuries and their cause of death has not been determined.

“This incident is being investigated as a suspicious death at this time,” said police, who have not disclosed the identities of the two people who died.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the East Moline Police Department at 309-752-1547. East Moline is in northwest Illinois about 90 miles east of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
