Some houses with a spectacularly large interior could be considered a dream come true for folks hunting around the real estate market for extra space.

But is there such a thing as “too much” space?

A dramatically vast estate for sale in St. Charles, Illinois, for $2.99 million puts that question to test.

The six-bedroom, 10-bathroom residence — a whopping 13,805 square feet — is referred to as a “paradise” in its listing on Zillow.com.

It also comes with a great many amenities, including:

  • High ceilings

  • Chef’s kitchen

  • Garden atrium

  • Theater

  • Indoor pool

  • In-law living area

  • Gym with locker room

  • Outdoor pool with waterfall

  • Tennis courts

  • Gazebo

The outside is pretty spectacular, too, with “vast gardens and foliage developed by Japanese landscape artist Hoichi Kuisu.”

The interior of the home captured the attention of fans of Zillow Gone Wild, a Twitter and Facebook account that targets unique houses for sale all over the country.

But some were immediately put off by how huge the inside appears.

“I think I’ve found the perfect lifestyle retreat/party house. Whose in?” one person asked.

“It’s giving mall vibes,” another tweeted.

“Let me live in the mall house,” someone said.

“This looks exactly like the atrium in the office building I go to for my taxes every year,” one person noted.

“I feel like this was the inspiration for ‘Control,’” someone joked.

“No longer do you have to choose between hotel, bank and convention center - you can live in all three,” another tweeted.

“Pics 2 and 3 look like the spaceport in Noveria,” one person said of a world in the video game “Mass Effect.”

According to the listing, the house is currently in “contingent.”

St. Charles is about 45 miles northwest of Chicago.
