Why are you running and why should people vote for you? I am running to do my part in making the county a great place to live and work. I will make sure the Treasurer’s office is run effectively, efficiently, and with integrity and I will be responsive and accountable. I have lived just about my whole life in St. Clair County and I don’t plan on leaving. So I want it to be a great place to live. We have very high tax rates here, I want to do my part in reducing them, as well as bringing efficiencies and cost savings to the office.

What qualifications do you have for this position? I have a BS in Finance, an MBA, sat for the first part of the CMA exam- a rigorous accounting accreditation with a management slant and I have many years in accounting manager and controller type positions. I like numbers and I’m a very effective manager and leader. I’m easy to get along with and enjoy working with others. I think I will really enjoy working to make a better county.

I have lived in St. Clair county nearly my whole life and I own and manage property here, so I have a vested interest in making it a better place.

What is the biggest issue facing the Treasurer’s Office? How would you handle it? The biggest issue is lack of fresh insight, lack of diversity in St. Clair County offices, including the Treasurer’s office, and lack of a leadership and integrity to watch over the funds entrusted to the Treasurer’s office. I would take a fresh look at all the systems and ask “can this be done better, more efficiently, more effectively?” I would be a watchdog over the office’s areas of responsibility and make sure tax payers are getting fair treatment and county residents are getting a well run office.
