Why are you running and why should people vote for you? I am running for State Representative because I believe I can make a difference in Springfield. My qualifications are outstanding for the job -- over 30 years experience as a Certified Public Accountant and Governmental Auditor and 17 years experience as an elected official, including the last 9 years, serving county wide on the Randolph County Board of Commissioners, 5 plus years as budget director and 3 plus years as Chairman of the Board. I am pro life and a supporter of our 2nd amendment rights. But just as important as qualifications is my ability to get things done. In Randolph County, I have been able to bring people together from both sides to reduce expenditures and lower the cost of government. On the 116th District Level, and within the past 2 years, I was instrumental in the preparation and the adoption of the inter-governmental agreement among 9 separate governmental entities necessary to create the Monroe-Randolph County Enterprise Zone which came into existence on January 1, 2020. Illinois is not moving forward, and Springfield needs people who can work to achieve progress through controlled spending, reduced taxes, and a climate that supports the values of the people of our District.

What would your goals be, if elected? I believe Illinois needs to control its excess spending, reduce taxes, fund its pension obligations, and balance its budgets, and I would work to support these goals. I am also a gun owner and a supporter of our 2nd amendment rights and would work to insure these for our future.

What issues are most pressing for your constituency? There are many issues important to the people of out District, but I believe the most important are: an Illinois which operates within its financial means and honors its obligations and an Illinois which supports all of our constitutional values.
