Highland votes down marijuana referendum; O’Fallon says yes to pot

With all 22 precincts reporting in O’Fallon, voters passed an advisory referendum to allow the sale of adult-use recreational cannabis in the city by a different of 271 votes, according to unofficial election results. In total, 2,733 voted in favor of the referendum and 2,472 voted against it.

9:47 p.m.

With 17 of 22 precincts reporting, unofficial election results show a close race on O’Fallon’s advisory referendum. As it stands, yes votes lead with 2,128 in favor of the referendum and 1,966 votes against.

9:35 p.m.

With all precincts reporting, Highland has voted down the advisory referendum to allow adult-use cannabis sales. The final vote was 1,047 against, 709 for.

9:31 p.m.

With seven of 10 precincts reporting in Highland, the current vote on the city’s advisory referendum stands at 788 against, 532 for.

9:29 p.m.

According to unofficial election results in O’Fallon, with eight of 22 precincts reporting the vote on an advisory referendum to allow adult-use cannabis sales in the city is neck and neck. Currently, votes in favor of the referendum lead with a total of 1,435 for, 1,307 against.

9:23 p.m.

With four of 10 precincts reporting, 58% of voters have voted no on Highland’s advisory referendum to allow cannabis sales in the city. The total vote is currently 539 against, 390 for.

8:33 p.m.

With three of 10 precincts reporting, roughly 60 percent of voters have said no to allowing cannabis sales in Highland. The current vote total is 463 against, 308 for.

8:25 p.m.

With two precincts reporting, the no vote on allowing cannabis sales in Highland is leading by 151 votes. The total count currently is 283 for, 434 against.
