Here’s how to report election issues or suspected fraud in metro-east counties
Illinois’ 2022 primary election is here, and if you witness an irregularity at the polls or an issue you believe could be voter fraud, you can report the incident to the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office.
County Clerk Thomas Holbrook said as of 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, there had been no reports of irregularities or suspected fraud made.
“The election is very low turnout, and with all the new election equipment and everything, things are going surprisingly well this morning,” Holbrook said. “Everything seems to be going very smooth, actually, operations-wise.”
To report an issue, you can call the county’s hotline at 618-825-2366 or email at voterintegrity@stclaircountyil.gov.
Reports can also be mailed to to the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office, Attention: Election Department, 10 Public Square, Belleville, IL 62220.
Email reports are automatically sent to the U.S. attorney, the St. Clair County state’s attorney and the county sheriff and elections department.
Complaints made by phone or letter are documented, scanned and automatically distributed through the same voter integrity email system, a county statement said.
