Miss Illinois’ voter registration deadline? Here’s how you can still register and vote
If you missed the Oct. 23 online voter registration deadline in Illinois or your address has changed since you registered, you may still be able to vote in the 2022 election. The Land of Lincoln offers a grace period, allowing residents to register and vote after the deadline.
Grace period registration must take place in person, and you have to vote when you go to register. It is available at certain early voting sites starting 15 days prior to the election, including on Election Day.
You can use the Illinois State Board of Elections website to locate a polling place near you that’s participating in grace period registration.
Eligibility requirements for grace period registration include:
U.S. citizen
At least 18 years old by the general election date
Resident of precinct at least 30 days prior to Election Day
Two forms of identification
