Here’s how to report voting problems, other election issues in southwestern Illinois
While rumors frequently circulate about voter fraud in the U.S., election officials take a variety of precautions to mitigate irregularities, including safeguards for electronic voting systems and voting by mail.
If you experience any issues or irregularities while voting in the metro-east this November, you can reach out to your county’s clerk office or a localized hotline to report your concerns.
Regardless of whether you suspect voter fraud or have a general election issue or question, you can contact your county’s clerk office to request assistance.
St. Clair County voters who experience issues voting can call 618-825-2366 or email voterintegrity@stclaircountyil.gov. Reports can also be mailed to the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office, Attention: Election Department, 10 Public Square, Belleville, IL 62220.
Email reports are automatically sent to the U.S. attorney, the St. Clair County state’s attorney and the county sheriff and elections department.
Complaints made by phone or letter are documented, scanned and automatically distributed through the same voter integrity email system, a St. Clair County statement about the June primary election said.
How to report election issues across metro-east
Madison County voters can report issues to the county clerk’s hotline at 618-606-0671.
In Clinton County, you can report issues to the clerk’s office by phone at 618-594-6620.
Voters in Randolph County can report irregularities by calling the clerk’s office at 618-826-5000, ext. 191.
Washington County voters can report issues at 618-327-4800, ext. 300.
The Illinois Board of Elections does not offer a statewide reporting hotline, instead pointing the public to individual county election authorities.
You can report Illinois election misinformation, including false information about voter eligibility, polling locations or voting online to the Illinois SBOE through an online form.
