Hundreds of candidates seek votes in southwest Illinois election. Here’s a list.
Hundreds of candidates across the metro-east are seeking votes in the April 4 election for city, village and school board seats.
To help voters prepare for the election, the Belleville News-Democrat will produce the BND 2023 Voter Guide.
The guide will include profiles and candidates’ responses to a BND questionnaire.
Reporters from the BND have been reaching out to about 300 candidates in contested races in an effort to ask the candidates to complete the questionnaire.
Overall, there are more than 600 candidates in local races across the region. Nearly half of them are running unopposed.
If you are a candidate in a contested election on April 4 and haven’t been contacted, please send an email to Elections2023@bnd.com and a BND reporter will reach out to you.
