Please list highlights of your civic involvement: 14 years as a dedicated volunteer committed to improving the educational experience for students, parents, teachers, and staff by serving on Executive PTO Boards and as the Edwardsville Choir Booster Board President.
Why are you running? I am running for District 7 School Board because my years of experience in local real estate have proven that a community is only as strong as its school system. While I believe we have a great district, I know we can be better. Now is the time to embrace new ideas and new technologies. We should always be looking to other excellent districts for inspiration and seeking ways to innovate and progress. I am dedicated to our students, our parents, and our staff, and I will work diligently to include everyone in our efforts to improve.
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it? I believe that District 7 offers a top-notch education to its students, but there is always room for improvement. There are some key areas I believe are most pressing: mental health support programs (already in crisis pre-pandemic), effective and efficient communication between the district and its stakeholders, recognizing and addressing equity issues, re-establishing a true career and technical education program for our students, and providing our teachers with effective professional development opportunities and support. By being more resourceful and finding solutions through collaboration with our community professionals, District 7 can improve these services with little to no impact on the budget, thus allowing the district to continue making financial strides without increasing the community’s property taxes.

I can best continue contributing to our community’s success by using the talents I’ve cultivated through my professional experience as a local Realtor and my volunteer service as your next ECUSD7 Board member. I promise to be approachable, respectful and to effectively communicate with our District’s many stakeholders, and remain steadfast in my commitment to be your representative.
