A 44-year-old Benton man died in a two-vehicle, head-on crash that also left a woman and three children injured in Perry County, authorities said.

Ralph Jones was pronounced deceased at the scene Saturday night on Illinois 154, Perry County Coroner Paul Searby said.

Lisa A. Boling, 36, of Du Bois was injured in the crash along with a 1-year-old girl and boys ages 2 and 4, Illinois State Police said in a news release.

Boling was driving a 2003 Dodge Durango west at 8:39 p.m. Saturday on Illinois 154 just east of U.S. 51 when her vehicle crossed the center line for unknown reasons and collided with a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Jones, according to preliminary information gathered by Illinois State Police Troop 10.

Boling and one child were flown to a hospital with serious injuries while the two other children were treated for minor injuries, Illinois State Police said.

Illinois State Police said it did not have any other information to release in connection with this crash.
