Flick Fact: Which Illinois county has been the state's leader in tornado counts?

Question: Illinois has already shattered its annual tornado record with 178 twisters in 2026. But do you know which county has been hit the hardest?

Answer: It appears to be our own McLean County, with eight tornadoes officially confirmed by the National Weather Service. Most came during outbreaks on April 17-18 and June 11. Next: Douglas County (Tuscola) and Kankakee County (Kankakee) at seven, followed by Sangamon (Springfield) with five, LaSalle, Champaign, Effingham (three each), Livingston, Woodford, Tazewell (two each), and Coles (2) and Peoria County one.
