St. Clair County coroner identifies man found shot to death under Eads Bridge

A 45-year-old man was shot and killed in the 100 block of Front Street, beneath the Eads Bridge, Saturday afternoon.

The shooter fled the scene and remains on the loose.

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victim as Gregory M. Thompson of Cahokia Heights.

Thompson was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was pronounced at the scene at 12:30 p.m., Dye said.

Thompson’s last known address was on Lanston Court in Cahokia Heights.

Police are continuing to look for the gunman.
