Date set for IndyCar’s return to Gateway Motorsports Park
Gateway Motorsports Park is back on the schedule for the Verizon IndyCar series, which was released Thursday afternoon.
The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 25, 2018, beginning at 7 p.m. The race is in its second of a multi-year agreement with IndyCar.
Coors Light Pole Night qualifying will be the day before.
“The 2018 edition of our Bommarito Automotive Group 500 presented by Valvoline will be bigger and better, with more entertainment for our fans,” Gateway Executive Vice President and General Manager Chris Blair said in a statement.
The event will inlude a display of vintage Indy Cars, live entertainment and expanded concessions. Expanded parking also should be ready.
The 2017 race, won by Josef Newgarden, was the first open-wheel race at Gateway since 2003. Six former Indianapolis 500 winners were in the field.
Ticket renewals begin Monday, Oct. 16. Tickets go on sale to the general public \Monday, Nov. 13.
Renewal tickets may be secured with only a $10 down payment.
Anyone purchasing IndyCar tickets before August 11, 2018 will receive special advance pricing, a free Coors Light Pole Night ticket and will be registered for prize drawings that includes access to exclusive event-day events.
Ticket renewals for the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race (June 23) and 2018 AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals (September 28-29-30) also begin on Monday, Oct. 16.
