Top performers in high school sports for Nov. 16
Aubrey Hubbard and Sarah Laskowski, Waterloo, Basketball
Hubbard, a junior, led the charge for the Bulldogs, scoring 20 points in their 52-37 win over Metro-East Lutheran. Laskowski, a senior, controlled the defensive end for Waterloo with a team-high 16 rebounds.
Anna Hall and Kourtland Tyus, Civic Memorial, Basketball
Hall’s 22 points and 16 rebounds placed the Eagles in perfect position for a victory as they rolled past Hillsboro 59-21. Tyus also had a strong performance with 15 points and four rebounds.
Adrenna Snipes, Alton-Marquette, Basketball
The Explorers cruised to a decisive 62-28 win over New Athens with Snipes leading the charge with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Sophia Binaldi, Columbia, Basketball
Binaldi scored 15 points to lead the way for Columbia in a 40-32 win over Triad.
Kierra Winkeler, Mater Dei, Basketball
Winkeler had a big game as the Knights moved past Alton 67-44. The senior for Mater Dei scored a team-high 21 points.
Chloe Brede, Wesclin, Swimming
Brede qualified for the finals in the 200-yard individual medley after swimming a 2:05.26 in the prelims of the event.
