Top performers in high school sports for Nov. 19
BOYS BASKETBALL
Ray’Sean Taylor, Collinsville
Taylor, a junior for the Kahoks, scored a team-high 18 points as Collinsville opened the season with a 64-33 win over Marion at the Pyramid Plus Tournament played at Herrin High School.
Gavin Huffman, Roxana
Despite Huffman’s 19-point effort, the Shells fell to St. Louis College Prep 57-44 at the Metro-East Lutheran Turkey Tip-off.
Shaun Riley II, O’Fallon
Riley led the charge for the Panthers with 12 points as they moved past Riverview Gardens 46-42.
Isaiah May and Khalifah Muhammad, Belleville East
May scored a team-high 10 points and also had four rebounds in the Lancers’ 53-41 loss to De Smet. Muhammad led the way on defense with 10 rebounds and also contributed nine points.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Abigail Reinneck, Lebanon
Reinneck’s 18 points were just enough to give the Lady Greyhounds the boost they needed to push past conference foe New Athens 41-35. Lebanon stands at an even 2-2 record.
SWIMMING
Chloe Brede, Swimming
Over the weekend, Brede placed eighth in the 200-yard individual medley at the IHSA state swim meet with a time of 2:05.82.
