Top performers in high school sports for Dec. 6


Jerry Watson and Zidane Morre, Granite City

Watson helped lift the Warriors past Columbia 60-50 on Thursday night by scoring a team-high 21 points. Moore was not far behind with 19 points.


Sydney Harris, Edwardsville

Harris, a freshman for the Tigers, has started her high school career with a bang. Edwardsville, the 2018 fourth-place finishers at the Class 4A state tournament, beat conference foe Belleville West 77-38 on Thursday night. Harris led the way with 36 points, four rebounds and two steals.

Ashley Schloer, O’Fallon

Schloer led the offense for the Panthers with 12 points as they moved past Collinsville 57-49.

Anaya Davis and Tiffani Siekmann, Althoff

Davis, a sophomore, and Siekmann, a senior, scored 14 points apiece in leading the Crusaders to a convincing 76-27 win over Mascoutah.

Adrenna Snipes, Alton Marquette

Snipes was on fire again for the Lady Explorers, with a team-high 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals in Alton Marquette’s 44-39 non-conference win over Jerseyville.

Anna Hall, Civic Memorial

Hall’s team-high 14 points was just the boost that the Lady Eagles were looking for as they scraped past Mater Dei 40-39. Hall also recorded eight rebounds on the night.


Cameron Varner, Collinsville

In the 113-pound category, Varner pinned O’Fallon’s Austin Kostedt at 2 mintues 44 seconds. Collinsville won the dual meet 42-30.
