Top performers in high school sports for Dec. 7

BOYS BASKETBALL

Ray’Sean Taylor, Collinsville

Taylor continued to top the Kahoks leader board in scoring, with 17 points as Collinsville beat Edwardsville 51-31.

Lawrence Brazil III, Belleville West

Brazil, a member of the 2018 Belleville West class 4A state Championship team, scored a team high 22 points as the Maroons topped city rival Belleville East 69-32.

Elijah Rice and Terrance Hargrove Jr., East St. Louis

The Flyers came away with a hard fought 79-70 victory over Alton on Friday night with the help of senior Elijah Rice, who scored a team high 20 points. Hargrove scored 14 points but also added 11 rebounds to aid the Flyers on defense.

Bryce Zupan, Civic Memorial

Despite Zupan’s impressive 23 point performance, the Eagles dropped their game against Jerseyville 55-48.

Luke Cox, Triad

Cox scored 21 points, three from 3-point range, in the Knights’ big 75-47 win over Waterloo. The junior also added three steals to his stat list.
