Top performers in high school sports for Dec. 11


Jaylin Mosby, Belleville West

Mosby, a senior for the defending Class 4A state champion Maroons, scored a season high 16 points to help Belleville West top conference rival Edwardsville 55-33.

Jonah James, Columbia

James scored a team high 19 points to lead the way for the Eagles in their 65-43 win over conference foe Salem. James, a sophomore, also had four steals.

Jake Kruse, Highland

Kruse, a senior for the Bulldogs, scored a season high 22 points, three from 3-point range, in Highland’s lopsided 69-35 win over Jerseyville.

Carter Wiegard, Red Bud

Wiegard was the only Musketeer to score in double digtis and he did it in style with 28 points as Red Bud topped Wood River 55-36.


Amelia Bell and Makayla Best, O’Fallon

Bell and Best scored 12 points apiece as the Lady Panthers outscored Triad 57-37 for a nonconference win on Tuesday night.

Bryce Dowell, Belleville East

Dowell’s team-high 21 points were just enough to edge the Lancers past crosstown rival Belleville West 39-32.

Adrenna Snipes, Alton Marquette

Snipes scored 14 points as the Explorers easily moved past Granite City 53-23.
