Delayed Mon-Clair Tournament to start on Saturday
The heavy rain which pelted the metro-east area Wednesday along with muddy playing conditions have pushed back the start of the Mon-Clair :League Playoffs to Saturday at Whitey Herzog Field.
Action begins at noon when seventh-seed Belleville takes on second-seeded Waterloo. The game will be followed at 2:30 p.m. when the top-seeded St. Louis Spikes play No. 8 seed Columbia.
The bottom half of the bracket will feature fifth-seed Valmeyer taking on fourth-seed Fairview Heights at 5 p.m, followed by the finale when sixth-seeded St. Louis Printers play third-seed Millstadt at 7:30 p.m.
The semifinals are set for 1 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday with the first game of the best-of-three championship series set for 6 p.m.
Game two will be at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a third and decisive game if necessary scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Monday.
All games will be played at Whitey Herzog Field.
